The Indian Institute of Liver and Digestive Sciences (IILDS) is a not-for-profit initiative of Liver Foundation West Bengal. Since inauguration in 2016, IILDS has emerged to be a leading clinical center of excellence serving the populations of India’s northeast and Bangladesh. IILDS is specialized in liver and gastrointestinal diseases and performed its first liver transplantation in 2022. The Institute is unique in that state-of-the-art services are provided to all patients in need regardless of their ability to pay. IILDS continues to operate successfully with self-sustainability through a tiered-pricing payment system.
