Regional hepatitis focal points coordinate response in the WHO European and Africa Regions. These regional specialists serve to provide technical support to individual countries, many of which are lacking the necessary technical expertise, to develop a national strategy to control and eliminate viral hepatitis.
The Task Force for Global Health launched Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination (CGHE) in 2019 to catalyze progress toward viral hepatitis elimination globally. A United Nation Group of Friends was formed in 2022, with the Permanent Mission of Egypt as its leader and CGHE as the Secretariat.
